A refreshed, rejuvenated look without looking’over-tightened’ or weird – this is the objective of the facelift. Your facial identity is maintained – you just look fresher, rested, healthier, and happy without appearing’operated’ on. You just look great, but a facelift or operation is the last thing people might suspect.

The mixing of an artistic approach with solidly based surgical treatment techniques is the key. When not over-tightened, this produces a youthful look in a very unconscious sort of way. Restoring of a clean jawline, with no sagginess, jowls or lower face heaviness produces a healthy, fresher appearance both from the sides and the front so long as the skin does not seem’over-pulled’! Elimination of the deep grooves and lines around the mouth make one look happier, fresher, and not as’mad’ or scowling, provided not over-tightened or over-lifted. Combining these changes and done well, it should be tough to tell that anything has been done with an overall look that is just’better’.

Lesser techniques are not necessarily less expensive and are often very dissatisfying, even short term. The underlying muscles are the foundation and support for the look of suitable smoothness to the skin of the face and neck. If these muscles are not restored and refined, the skin is being asked to’hold’ up everything. Leaving the muscle tightening measures out really creates an over-tightened appearance – strike one. Strike 2 – this is biologically unsustainable – the skin will very soon redevelop all of its droopiness. With the muscles correctly tightened along the sides of the face, and fat removed from under the chin with the neck muscles also tightened, the skin may be artistically re-draped at a gentle, lifted way. And the stage is set for long-term consequences – 10 years or longer isn’t unusual – as a result.

General anesthesia is not needed to get a lower face and neck lift. Utilizing special sedation and local anesthetic methods designed especially for this surgery, most patients sleep (as in falling asleep, not’knocked out’) throughout their facelift. No general anesthesia means it’s safer overall, with a simpler, quicker recovery and less potential for complications. The financial savings realized are also quite substantial – reducing the common costs by as much as 50%!

It’s better to get a facelift completed in your late 40’s or 50’s than when you are older. This one may have surprised you! Years before, and perhaps even still for those performing the old-fashioned, over-tightened 5 hour surgery, facelifts were kind of withheld as a’last resort’ kind of process. This might make sense for a lengthy, complicated surgery with the necessity to hide out for a protracted, extreme 3-4 weeks of healing. But with modern, sophisticated techniques this is a now a 2 hour operation using local anesthetic; it is a walk-in/walk-out process with a 1-2 week presentability recovery. Consider it – younger skin generally heals faster, more reliably, and holds up longer. Plus, shouldn’t you get to really enjoy your look for several years? Unfortunately, as we age we also often develop conditions and require medications which may interfere with, or complicate surgical procedures. Overall, having a lower face and neck lift is more successful and less noticeable when it’s less of a’drastic shift’. So if the indications are there, a lower face and neck lift is better done sooner, as opposed to later. This is why we call it the”Look Fabulous Today” Lift!
